The Saedo Foundation has donated 3,000 exercise books to Ziwa La Ng'ombe and Kengeleni primary schools in Kongowea Ward, in an effort to boost the education sector in the area.

Speaking during the function, the Foundation Chairperson Salim Abdallah pledged more support for schools in the area in a bid to care for the student's educational needs.

"We at Saedo Foundation believe in collective responsibility and we are working towards changing the narrative access to education for all who qualify, and especially those from poor backgrounds," he said.

He added, "The Foundation shall continue assessing educational needs and interacting with the people at the grassroots level to ensure that there is informed action on educational needs."

The books were presented to the school heads Mr Khamisi Hamisi of Ziwa La Ng'ombe primary school and Mrs Margaret of Kengeleni primary school for collection by parents.

The donation drive was graced by local leaders including MCA aspirants Dan Abwao and Felix Onjuka.

The two played a major role in assessing and highlighting the challenges faced by pupils in the two schools.
