A non-governmental organisation in Kiambu County has pledged Sh800,000 to assist the less privileged children in Gatundu North sub-county.
Twenty four students from Iruri Secondary School have already received assistance in form of school fees from the organisation.
Mutema Foundation also donated assorted personal effects like soap, food, clothes among others to the needy students in the area.
Speaking at Iruri Secondary School on Tuesday, the organisation’s Chairman, Gilbert Mutema said the number of needy children in the region was on the rise and other well-wishers should come and compliment the efforts of his organisation.
He said that his organisation had partnered with Nairobi Chapel Church in a deliberate move to ensure that they availed the much needed assistance to children from disadvantaged backgrounds.
“The need to give and give more is on the upsurge in this area. My support plus that of Nairobi Chapel Church is of very vital importance in changing the children’s livelihood. I am urging more well wishers to chip in and make a difference in the children’s lives,” said Mutema.
