The NGO intends to eventual disburse loans to the entrepreneurs after the training.
Hand in Hand East Africa (HiH EA) will work with local entrepreneurs in attaining economic and social empowerment among women, youth and men by creating sustainable enterprises.
Speaking on Friday in Limuru town during a familiarisation session with chairs of various groups, HiH EA chief executive officer (CEO), Pauline Ngari said that the organisation is an equal business partner and does not discriminate.
“HiH EA does not discriminate when it comes to doing businesses. We offer equal business opportunities to youths, persons with disabilities, women and men by assisting them to improve their livelihoods,” said Ngari.
Ngari said that the organisation would work with Kiambu business community in provision of entrepreneurs' education.
“We are going to provide a six month free business education session to Kiambu entrepreneurs and then extend credit facilities to them,” said Ngari.
Ngari revealed that the organisation has already disbursed over Sh20 million to different groups and expressed optimism that the same credit facility would be extended to Kiambu entrepreneurs.
The organisation’s partnerships manager, Thomas Jimbo said that entrepreneurs will be trained on enterprise development including how to create and sustain small enterprises and jobs.
He said this is expected to increase their domestic incomes and eventually improve for the program beneficiaries’ livelihoods.
