The Carolina for Kibera organisation started the program on Friday and will foresee young mothers benefit from the studies as revealed by the organizer Vivian Moraa.

''The program will help all young mothers know how to breastfeed their children. It has come to our attention that some of the young mothers who give birth at home don't know how to go about the breastfeeding exercise,'' she said.

Moraa further said many of the young mothers refuse to breastfeed their children since they believe that breastfeeding was for the old generations and that it is a waste of time.

She called on the women to freely breastfeed the children since it is a health benefit to the child.

One beneficiary of the program, Wilmina Achieng' said the knowledge she has gained from the program has helped her know how to breastfeed her son without any struggles.

Achieng further called on her fellow young mothers to attend the training saying they are worth and will be useful in their current status and future life.

The NGO is based in Kibera and has been carrying out cleaning exercise in the slums. The services are given for free.
