The village, which is notoriously known for illicit brews will benefit from the organisation, which intends to make agriculture the main activity in the area.

According to the founder of the organisation, Rose Mumbi, the name of the village should change from Kinyango to ‘Green Gardens’, referring to their intentions of transforming the area to a food production basket.

“The initiative will be rolled out in all the areas which are hard hit by the illicit brews and its main aim is to give all the brewers an alternative means of generating some income," said Mumbi.

Speaking on Monday morning in Kinyango village, Mumbi said that the foundation will also partner with the Kiambu County Government and the Simlaw Seeds Company to realise their plans.

"We will partner with the county government and so far our talks with the governor are at an advanced stage,” added Mumbi.

Kiambu County Youth executive Marcel Waikenda and the Ng’enda MCA of Michael Kuria praised the initiative.

"This initiative is going to change the livelihood of this village. We should all support it to the fullest. I thank Jubilee Foundation for bringing this initiative here,” said Waikenda.
