At least 100 youth in Ruiru and Juja sub counties are set to benefit from a sport initiative launched by a local NGO.
King'ara Foundation has initiated the project in conjunction with sports experts from South Africa to training youth on sports.
Under the initiative youth aged between 16 - 23 years will be trained to enhance their talents.
Speaking yesterday at Ruiru Town during the launch of the initiative, Simon Njoroge King'ara, the foundation chairman said that they want to invest in the youth to enable them exploit their talents in sports.
“The foundation has interests in youth and it intends to help them exploit their talents,” said King'ara.
King'ara said that the experts are in the county to provide expert skills to the youth.
“Experts from South Africa are coaching our youth on best sports practices,” he said.
He urged the youth to attend these trainings to enable them benefit.
King'ara also urged the government to increase its budgetary allocation to youth programs.
“I urge county and national government to increase sports allocations to the youth to ensure that the challenges facing them in sports are addressed,” said King'ara.
