Residents of ngoingwa area of thika Sub County within Kiambu County have asked the police to arrest a gang of young men who have been robbing them off their property
According to the residents the robbers have been robbing off thee area residents especially during weekends saying that the police skip patrols during the weekends
They said that the gang is targeting electronic and other valuables and they can kill if they are aggrieved,
Jane Gatwiri a resident whose house was raided on Monday night said that the gang of three entered her compound when she was arriving at around 8 pm and took them hostage before escaping with electronics and all the phones in her home
She said that the gang tied them up before leaving whereby one of her children fainted and they were helped by neighbors who noticed a problem when they saw the gate left ajar late in the evening
“The other night the gang attacked my home and robbed all my electronics and left us tied up even my last born daughter fainted. The situation in this area is alarming and we are requesting the police to provide us with security and we will appreciate.” Mrs. gatwiri said
He said that the police have been reluctant to the reports reported by the residents since three homes from the area in the previous week have already been raided
However the officer in charge of Juja police station Mr. richrd kipngetich said that the police are probing into the matter and they will make an arrest soon
“We have received complains from ngoigwa residents and we are going to make an arrest soon. I am sending a message to the criminals to retreat before we get them because we will not relent in providing security for our residents.” The officer said
He said that the residents have also been reluctant to give information saying that in one incident the matter was reported to them two days later after the crime was perpetrated
