Residents of Ngoingwa area Thika town have complained of the rising insecurity in the estate.
Led by area MCA Kennedy Mwangi, the residents have reported that armed robbers are going round the estate causing havoc and violently robbing them.
"There has been a security lapse in Thika town and more so here in Ngoingwa. Robbers are waylaying people at their gates and forcing their way into their homes to rob them," saidMwangi.
Mwangi has now asked the security organs in the area to step in curb the alarming situation, saying the matter is getting out of hand and immediate measures are required.
"On Monday someone was robbed in broad daylight, thieves entered with him and stayed in the house for close to six hours. Surprisingly, they used his vehicle to transport all the household items they had stolen from him. They also went further and raped his house help," added Mwangi.
He has promised his resident that he will fight to ensure security in the area is upped to avoid suc cases in the future.
Ngoingwa is an upcoming posh estate on the western side of Thika town, and is increasingly becoming popular with people of means in the area.
