NGOs Coordination Board Executive Director Mohammed Fazul is once again on the spot over allegations of nepotism and misappropriation of funds.
In the latest controversy, Fazul is on record transferring Human Resource manager Ms Josephine Ngatia to the Garissa regional offices after she raised pertinent questions on payment of allowances to employed interns.
According to sources, Fazul also transferred Sekoh Nyadiero, another official from the HR department to the Mombasa offices. The duo are expected to report to their new stations on August 1st this year.
According to staff members who sought anonymity, the transfers are questionable owing to the fact that Garissa office has only two permanent employees and three interns. The staff members accused their executive director of exercising nepotism and misuse of public funds.
They claimed Fazul is in the habit of hiring staff members without involving or consulting with the human resource managers and the respective head of administration as required.
Another source privy to the unfoldings said Fazul was effecting the changes to silence inquisitive staff members who have been raising issues of mismanagement.
In Fazul's new hirings, new employees earn a salary of Sh85,517, a figure that is equivalent to that of an employee with a 12-year experience.
"He calls them job interns yet they are on full pay," the source said.
