Non-governmental organisations have praised the cabinet appointments by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday.
Speaking in Eldoret on Saturday, NGOs Chairman Stephen Cheboi said the president considered regional representations and gender in his new cabinet line up.
Cheboi asked the nominees to work to serve Kenyans equally.
“We further congratulate the president for considering regional representations and gender in the new cabinet lineup and other appointments he made. We urge him to continue with the same spirit in other future appointments.”
“We urge all those appointed by the president to various positions in Government to serve Kenyans with a lot of commitments and dedications. The country needs servant leadership but not bosses, Kenya has several challenges and requires dedicated men and women to ensure we dealt with issues affecting the country,” said Cheboi.
He expressed confidence that that men and women appointed to various positions will deliver. Cheboi urged leaders to take a bold step and seek dialogue with each other.
He asked NASA and Jubilee to find lasting solutions to the current political issues facing the country, adding that swearing in Raila Odinga may not bring enough solutions to the problems.
“We urge President Uhuru Kenyatta to reach out to Raila Odinga and other leaders for a dialogue on issues affecting the nation. Peace and stability for Kenya are very important at any given time,” he said.
