The chairman of Uasin Gishu Gospel ministers Bishop Wilson Kurui has accused a section of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO's) for spreading rumours that the county might witness chaos in the August polls.

Kurui claims the NGO's are using the false narrative to get funds for conducting peace building activities.

Speaking in Eldoret, the Jesus is Love Ministries leader said Uasin Gishu is peaceful and there is no threat of violence before, during or after the general elections.

"Uasin Gishu is peaceful. Eldoret town is very calm and everybody knows that come August 8 they will peacefully vote for their preferred candidate," said Bishop Kurui.

"Some organizations are going round claiming that there is tension in this county just because they want to be given money from foreign donors," he added.

Political temperatures in the county have been rising following a fierce battle for gubernatorial seat pitting incumbent Jackson Mandago and billionaire businessman Bundotich Zedekiah Kiprop better known as Buzeki.
