A seven member committee formed by the Kiambu County deputy speaker, Gathii Irungu, to probe the county finance CEC Mary Nguli has absolved her of any wrong doing.

The committee which tabled its findings last evening said that there were no reasonable grounds to send Nguli home. Nguli had been charged with ten counts of financial impropriety and lack of accountability in her docket.

However, Karai Ward MCA Njenga Magua who had tabled the motion of no confidence in the assembly against Nguli has come out blazing saying that the committee members were compromised.

“I have done my part and Kiambu people know that. I did just like a prophet does to point where the truth is. Nobody will tell me I did not do what I was supposed to. Now I can only pity those who have been bribed to arrive at this conclusion,” Njenga said.

Njenga has now dared any of the 53 MCAs who had supported the motion to support the report and it will be known that they have been compromised too.

At the same time, Njenga said that the committee led by Nyanduma Ward MCA Mburu Gitiha overlooked many issues that had been raised to see that even now financial queries are still being raised.

The county assembly is expected to vote over the report next week.
