Residents of Tala, Matungulu sub-county, Machakos county have called upon the Kenya wildlife service to act fast and save them from a marauding cheetah that has been terrorizing them.
Led by one Raphael Nzau, the residents decried that the cheetah has been roaming freely in the area thus causing panic among the residents.
"We are forced to head home early than our schedule due to fear, the cheetah is roaming freely and we are fearing for our school going children and our livestock's," said Nzau.
The cheetah attacked five people, two of them wardens from Oldonyo Sabuk national park where they are recuperating in various hospitals in the subcounty.
Last week the cheetah is said to have attacked 3 dogs and attacked a cow.
The residents now want the KWS to move fast and tame the cheetah that is in the company of two of its cubs.
"There's no way we can live with dangerous wild animals, KWS should send wardens to deal with the cheetah since the trap that was previously laid for the cheetah is not working," concluded Raphael.
