Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has downplayed the action by ODM MPs to heckle the President during his State of the Nation address on Thursday.
Speaking at Kiamaina Secondary School on Friday Ngunjiri pointed an accusing finger on the opposition MPs for lack of respect for the Presidency.
"Even if we have different views, it is very necessary to show respect for the elected leaders especially for the President," said the MP.
He argued that the President has a constitutional right to address the Parliament once a year.
"The President is entitled to address the Parliament as per the constitution and should be given time to exercise his freedom," he added.
This comes after eight ODM MPs and a senator were ejected from the parliament for causing mayhem when the president was addressing a special joint meeting making him pause his speech several times.
