Two Jubilee allied MPs from Nakuru County have said that jubilee sitting members of parliament will not allow 2013 election losers to take charge of the newly formed JAP party.
Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri and his Nakuru East counterpart David Gikaria have said that those who lost in the last general elections, cannot be given priority over current sitting MPs, saying that if they want to join the new party, they should come in as ordinary members.
Addressing the press at Nakuru town Monday morning, the two said that they will not allow their competitors; some who stood on different parties in 2013, to come and take charge of JAP under their watch.
“Some people vied for positions on different parties which were opposing TNA and URP and now that JAP has been formed, they think they will easily walk in and head the party. Let it be made clear that those who lost in 2013 and were in different parties will not head JAP because JAP has its owners,” said Ngunjiri.
Gikaria said that allowing their competitors and losers to head the new party will give them undue advantage over the sitting MPs, who he said have worked hard in the formation of the new party.
“If they want to be members of JAP, they are most welcome, but let them forget about leadership positions, and if they must be leaders then they can as well form their own party,” said Gikaria.
The two were reacting to rumuors that the JAP head office was planning to dish out party leadership positions to politicians who lost in the last general election.
