Bahati Constituency Development Fund will build a Sh800,000 classroom at Lanet Primary School to cater for pupils with learning disabilities.
This was said on Friday by area MP Kimani Ngunjiri who presided over a prize giving day.
Lanet Primary School, which was started in 1968 has a big compound but with dilapidated buildings, some with leaking roof and potholed floors.
The MP said it was unacceptable for school children to be subjected to such deplorable learning conditions.
Ngunjiri said it was regrettable the children with learning difficulties were being taught in a very small room.
To validate his promise, Ngunjiri issued Sh800,000 for the construction of the classroom.
He also gave each of the three students who performed well in last year's KCPE a Sh10,000 bursary.
His office will also sponsor seven pupils with learning disabilities.
Bahati CDF Chairman Anthony Njui said that some 1,260 Bahati youth had been sponsored for various middle level courses since the programme started two years ago.
Thousands others, Mr Njui said, had also benefited from bursaries to study in secondary schools and universities.
A special education officer in the Ministry of Education, Lilian Mwaura said there were few special needs schools in the county and more resources should be injected in the sector.
Augustine Wanderi, the student who scored the best marks last year with 405 marks was awarded with a sports bicycle by the school's Board of Management.
