Following his recent petition against Chief Justice David Maraga, Nyeri Town MP Wambugu Ngunjiri has now been sued by activist Okiya Omtata.
Omtatah went to court seeking to bar Ngunjiri from prosecuting Maraga over alleged misconduct.
In case the activist has his way, Ngunjiri will have to pay Sh10 million as Omtatah wants the court to compel the legislator to compensate Maraga for 'damaging' his reputation.
"Ngunjiri being dissatisfied with the decision of the Supreme Court aforesaid has singled out and staged an unprecedented attack on the person of the CJ and the President of the Supreme Court, who delivered the majority ruling of the court," reads the petition.
However, the MP last week announced that he would drop his petition against Maraga for now.
He had filed his petition last week with the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) aimed at removing the CJ from office.
In his petition, he accused Maraga e=of exercising a judicial coup when he annulled the presidential election and claimed that he had substantive evidence to support his stand.
