Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has lauded members of the public after illicit brews worth millions of shillings were destroyed in the area on Christmass eve.
Speaking on Thursday, Ngunjiri said that cooperation between members of the public and police is what made it possible for more than 500,000 bottles of liquor, branded Nyota, be nabbed in a residential house in Kiamunyeki Bahati constituency.
The legislator, who was at the scene of the incident together with several security leaders drawn from the county, called for an enhanced cooperation between members of the public and security officers.
"This will ensure we are able to arrest those breaking the law," he said.
Deputy county commissioner Kithinji Ithai said the liquor was allegedly to be sold during the festive.
He said police are hunting for the owner of the house who reportedly fled after getting wind of the planned raid to his house.
