Bahati Member of Parliament Kimani Ngunjiri on Friday praised Nakuru’s Umoja chief as a true leader who minds about the welfare of his people.
Speaking during a function at Lanet Umoja primary school to hand over water filters to several families in the area, Ngunjiri said Chief Francis Kariuki is always mindful of his people.
“I want to thank Chief Kariuki for all this. Through his contacts, he has been able to secure resources which will uplift the lives of our people,” Ngunjiri said.
The domestic water filters are a donation from an American NGO which were secured by the famous chief.
The chief was brought to the limelight after embracing the social media in an effort to curb insecurity. He acquired the tag ‘tweeting chief’.
This is because he uses tweeter to pass information to the people as well as coordinate security issues in his area.
