Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has hit out at Parliament Majority Leader Aden Duale and Muslim leaders in the country for delaying the release of the names of the purported financiers of Al shaabab.
Ngujiri said that the information was critical to the country’s welfare, urging that the leaders should immediately release names of individuals they believed were sponsoring terrorism in the country, instead of keeping the country in suspense.
“Acts of terrorism was a matter of life and death. The government should demand to be furnished with details of sponsors of terror instead of accepting Duale’s delaying tactics on the matter,” he said.
The legislator accused Duale of holding Kenyans hostage while buying time.
“We know time is of essence in a case like this. The list Duale talked about should be with the security council now and not later,” said Ngunjiri.
“I do not understand why he is asking time to give the names. This is critical information that might lead to the arrest and eventual killing of all the Al shaabab suspects in the country. I do not understand why he is taking his time,” he added.
Ngunjiri was speaking at Kiamana Secondary school in Bahati on Tuesday evening, where he urged his fellow MPs to rally behind his demand for the release of the names.
