This is according to Bahati legislature Kimani Ngunjiri who asked the MCAs to consider both sides before reaching a solution that will be implemented into a law.

Speaking in his Bahati backyard on Saturday, Ngunjiri pointed out that the bill had some weighty specifics that had to be considered before being adopted or rejected.

"As much as plastic bags are a nuisance to everybody, think of sectors that fully depend on them for them to remain in business, what of that old mama mboga who fully depends on them in wrapping her customers purchases? The bill needs critical thinking so that nobody feels undermined at the end of it all," he said.

He further advised the MCAs not to play politics with the issue arguing that such a bill revolved around many sectors and ignoring any sector while debating might plunge the county into an economic disaster in future.

The bill seeks to have the county control the production and distribution of plastic bags in Nakuru.

It was first tabled in the assembly through the legal and justice committee last week on Wednesday and is still under debate.
