Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri has lauded Cord leader Raila Odinga for finally giving into dialogue regarding the IEBC stand off.
This follows a pronouncement by Raila on Tuesday that the Cord had written a letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta urging dialogue over the debate on the electoral body.
Ngunjiri, who spoke in Bahati on Wednesday, said at last, the former premier has recognised that Kenya has got only one president.
“I think what Raila did was a good step because he has finally realised Kenya has got only one president and that is Uhuru Kenyatta,” he said.
“He has also realised that protesting will not solve the issue at hand and that is why he wrote to the president pushing for dialogue so that the matter can be handled well,” he added.
The MP stated that Jubilee MPs will support Uhuru in his resolve to dialogue with Opposition.
“We will support the President on this matter and make sure it is amicably handled,” he said.
He also said it has now come to light that Raila’s criticism cannot affect the development of the country.
Ngunjiri said through the demonstrations that have been held over the IEBC issue, only one region has been seen to rallying behind Raila and it has not affected service delivery in the rest of the country.
