According to Ngunyi, who became more famous for his tyranny of numbers theory, Joho stands a better chance of becoming Raila’s running mate considering the current political situation in the nation.

“Joho has the energy of William Ruto; he has the consummate political tactics and strategies that Ruto uses. For Raila to beat the dynamic duo (Uhuru and Ruto), that’s what he needs (Joho),” said Ngunyi.

He added that Raila’s decision to popularise his party without involving former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula should not be ignored.

Ngunyi also claimed that Raila is plotting to exit Cord, adding that if that happens, then Joho will definitely become his running mate.

ODM's decision to have Joho spearheading Raila's campaigns has elicited mixed reactions from various leaders in the coalition.

Some leaders have accused Raila of using Joho to sabotage the coalition.

Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar criticised the move, saying it was selfish of Joho to popularise the ODM party without considering other parties in the coalition.
