NIC Bank Group has opened a new branch in Kitengela, Kajiado County, as part of its ambitious expansion plan to reach more retail customers and grow its SME business.

The new branch targets growing business community in Kitengela and surrounding areas, as well as reach potential customers in the wider Kajiado County.

NIC Kitengela branch will be the bank’s 29th branch and is located in Zulu House, along Namanga Road.

“As a bank, our focus is to support our retail and SME customers. We will continue to increase our footprint and invest in new branches to enable us to reach more customers and diversify our deposit base,” Group Managing Director John Gachora said.

Gachora noted the bank’s strategy of strategically shifting focus towards the retail and SME segment was already bearing fruit.

The move is aimed at ensuring future sustainable growth and returns

The bank has a target to open 50 branches across Kenya by 2018.

In April, NIC opened its 28th branch in Kisii County and is expected to roll out a number of new branches in May.

The bank, in an effort to improve customer experience is also refurbishing and enhancing some of its older branches.

In 2015, the bank opened branches in Machakos County, Lunga Lunga in Industrial Area and Kilimani in Nairobi.

To support its SME growth proposition, NIC Bank in December 2015 received a Sh5.56 billion credit line from the European Investment Bank (EIB).
