Former FKF President Sam Nyamweya has accused his successor Nick Mwenda of ‘running down’ local football.
Speaking for the first time since the court revoked his 10-year-ban on his participation in local football, Nyamweya said time has come for change.
He thanked the courts for doing him justice and lifting the ban, saying local football needed a new leader.
In his statement, he said how Mwendwa has failed ‘astronomically’ and he will come out of retirement for that reason.
“I retired from football management when I opted not to participate in the last elections that ushered in Nick Mwendwa, my former TMS Manager who I believed will take it to the next level,”
“Sadly, he has failed astronomically. I today announce that I am coming out of retirement courtesy of Nick Mwendwa who provoked me by purporting ten years ban on me from all football activities,”
"Together with people who are ready to save our game from the current autocratic and radar less leadership, we are going to work together to save Kenyan football from the current fall,”
Fresh elections for the FKF top posts will be done in 2019.
