Nigerian national team, Super Eagles, was smashed by Croatia in their opening match which ended in 0-2. The team however redeemed itself by hammering Iceland 2-0 to revive their hopes of going to the group of last 16.

According to the self-styled prophet, Tommy Yisa Aika, Super Eagles suffered the humiliating defeat in their opening match as punishment from God for hiring a white coach, Gernot Roh.

Aika, however, said Nigerians could still have a chance and emerge the first African team to win the highly coveted World Cup on condition that fans gave him KSh 200,000.

"What I need is a token 750,000 (naira) to get some spiritual materials and also to give my prayer warriors as honorarium," he said in a television interview.

He went on to claim that his followers were on standby and ready for action.    "So that what has been destroyed can be readjusted to grant the Super Eagles divine favor all through the tournament," he said.
