Residents of Majengo estate in Thika sub-county have expressed their worries over the recent state of insecurity in the area.
This is after a student and a woman were attacked by unknown men believed to be residing in the same area.
Confirming the incident, Thika sub-county OCPD Shadrack Maithya said the men have been harassing residents and people at the estate at night. He added that they pick-pocket and rob people before escaping through the lower part of Chania river, which is allegedly their hiding den.
“We are fully informed about these night attackers and our officers are on the ground to deal with anyone arrested on the scene at night. I want to, however, urge residents to be careful to avoid being caught in such situations,” he added.
Maithya urged the residents to work together with the police to ensure culprits are brought to book to ensure security is back to normal.
“Anyone with information about the whereabouts of the culprits should come to any of our officers. We will confidentially take the information and track the criminals,” Maithya added.
The police boss was speaking during a press briefing at his office in Thika town.
