Hundreds of travellers going back to Nairobi continue to be stranded at in various towns across the country after the government over the weekend banned night travel.
The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) in a radical move said no passenger buses would be allowed to conduct business at night, a move they said was to curb the spate of road accidents occurring in the country.
But by Monday, bus stations began to experience an influx of stranded Nairobi-bound travellers who either had their night travel cancelled by the buses or could not secure a slot for the now hiked day travelling.
Passengers whose tickets were cancelled were forced to sleep in cold stationary buses while others had to travel back home until the crisis is arrested.
Nairobi businesses will continue to count heavy loses as they not only depend on the stranded travellers for manpower but also look to them for a customer base.
