A night guard at Nyagwara dispensary in Rachar Sub location Rarieda Sub County is being detained at Aram police cells after he allegedly burnt down the hospitals’ registry, store and pharmacy on Monday night.
Samuel Jura Oluoch, 52, who was arrested this on Tuesday, is alleged to have set the facility a blaze last night after he was angered with the clinicians he accused of failing to attend to his sick child who was brought to the facility for treatment.
The night arson burnt down hospitals’ buildings and equipment that includes drugs, needles, syringes, gloves, cotton wool among other valuables.
According to the hospital's nurse Joseph Maende the bitter Jura also complained of delayed remuneration that had accumulated for over a year.
Maende told journalists that the accused in his bitter mood also blamed the facility for not giving him proper services when he is the one who donated land for the establishment of the facility.
“The hospital operations are left at cross roads because we now lack tools and drugs to give out to desperate patients”, Maende said.
The suspect, Maende said has not been paid for a whole year despite his substantive services.
He however pledged that they are working ways to ensure that the facility does not stop its services to their clients.
Rarieda Officer Commanding Police Division Johana Chebii confirmed the arrest noting that interrogations have commenced on the suspect who will thereafter be arraigned in court.
