A religious leader in Makongeni has blamed increasing immoralities among Thika youths to increasing number of nightclubs in Thika Town.
Speaking during a Youth's Service at Makongeni Full Gospel Church on Sunday, Revered Samuel Gatimu said that many youths in the area were frequenting nightclubs in Thika town where their morals were getting compromised. He urged the youths to embrace the way of the cross to avoid what he said was God's imminent punishment.
"Immorality have continued to rise as nightclubs continue to open in this town. It is, however, unfortunate that our youths who are our future are the main clients who continue to frequent these nightclubs and waste their lives there," said Gatimu.
He added: "There is nothing good that can come from the cover of darkness. The owners of these businesses are just after money and what happens to these youths is least of their concerns. I urge the youths to spare that energy and time to seek Christ our Saviour because God's wrath is about to fall on the sinful."
Gatimu also asked the youths to concentrate on building their lives rather than engaging in useless things that will just bring regrets in their lives later. At the same time he urged the youths to choose their life partners wisely saying that nightclubs were not the place to pick them from.
"Look for partners who are led by the spirit of Christ and not by the darkness. Do not seek them in the nightclubs where immoralities reign," he said.
He asked parents and the elderly to offer guidance to the youngsters to ensure they are on the right track and dissuade them from frequenting nightclubs.
