James Mungao and eight others appeared before Senior Principal Magistrate Joyce Gandani in Milimani Law Court on Tuesday and pleaded “not guilty.”

The accused were freed on a bond of Sh10,000 each and an alternative cash bail of Sh2,000 each.

Two people were reported dead in Siaya on Monday and another in Kisumu following the demonstrations.

Police have been blamed for the killings. The prosecutor said the nine arrested in Nairobi were jointly participating in the unlawful assembly along Kenyatta Avenue, Moi Avenue, Muindi Mbingu Street and University Way, Nairobi.

Fifteen others were charged last week following violent confrontation with the police. CORD leaders have vowed to consider with anti_IEBC demos on every Monday.
