Brother to National Intelligence Service (NIS) boss Phillip Kameru was killed in a car crash on Saturday night.

Two other people died in the incident that occurred on the Kiandu-Othaya road, Nyeri County.

Augustine Mathenge died together with a friend travelling with him when their car rolled and plunged into the Gura River around 10pm. 

The accident happened just a kilometre from their home.

According to police records, Mathenge was the one behind the wheel at the fateful moment and his passenger colleague was identified as Patrick Kibue.

The late Mathenge worked as director of Nyeri-based security firm Lichi Security.
