“The NIS should tell Kenyans what they are doing to unearth the real cause of the students burning down their schools? They have been mandated to investigate and therefore they need to do their job properly,” Terer said.

Furthermore he pointed out that the children in these schools are copying what their leaders are doing when there is a disagreement within their ranks.

“We the politicians have always resorted to mass action and burning of tires on the streets whenever we disagree with each other. Our children are copying us and doing the same,” Terer added.

Moreover, the County Assembly Committee on Education Daniel Sanga pointed out laxity in the security apparatus whom he blamed for not preventing the rampart arsons in the schools.

Sanga decried that a lot of property worthy of millions that took ages to set up all goes into flames within minutes.

“The investments our parents put in many years past to build these schools is being destroyed by our children. These children are behaving as if there is no government or rule of law in this country,” Sanga said.

113 schools have been burnt so far.
