Suna East MP Junet Mohammed says the National Intelligence Service has been monitoring all moves made by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
During his tour to US, the Star newspaper claimed that the government had sent the investigative team to monitor all his activities during the short visit in Washington DC.
But at Zanzibar, Junet accused the NIS of trailing the veteran leader insisting that the short stay in Zanzibar was not secret.
“Raila’s visit to Zanzibar was not secretive and that is why he even booked a flight in full glare of cameras,” he said in a short statement on Facebook.
Junet further said: “NIS has been trailing him everywhere but what they should know is that we have nothing to hide.”
For the last three months, Odinga has been at loggerheads with Jubilee administration and has since dismissed the recent presidential repeat poll.
Although it is not yet clear why he flew to Tanzania, Odinga however enjoys close relationship with President John Magufuli.
