Taita Taveta Governor Granton Samboja on Thursday signed an MOU with the Kenya Animal Genetic Resource Centre (KAGRC) that will see farmers receive Al Services at Sh200 from Sh1,500.
"One of my promise pledge during campaigns was to improve our livestock breeds as well as the lives of our hardworking farmers," said Samboja.
Soon, he noted dairy and beef farmers in the County will have access to good and improved livestock breeds which will improve their yields and gains economically.
"My government will improve on the livestock extension services through training of officers and farmers," he said, and further welcomed plans by KAGRC to start a Nitrogen gas plant in Voi.
"I will personally pick up the initiative and ensure that the plant is set up as soon as possible. My Government is ready to work with the National Government for the benefit of our people. It's time to economically empower our people to be independent as well as improve their living standards," said the governor.
