Former minister Njenga Karume's grandson has been arrested over drug trafficking claims.
James Njenga, was arrested at his Lavington home alongside two other suspects, Lawrence Muketo Ngula and Joseph Mutua Kimeu, for allegedly trafficking cocaine and marijuana.
Confirming the incident, Head of the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) Dr Hamisi Massa, said the three were nabbed with several pounds of imported high-grade marijuana and sachets of hard drugs including cocaine.
It is reported that the suspects ran a narcotics distribution network in Nairobi and Kampala, importing drugs such as Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD), a hallucinogenic, into the country.
LSD is said to be popular among youth who frequent high-end clubs in Nairobi.
The trio will be arraigned in court on Thursday.
