Njomo has grieved that lack of funds in the programme, which has really affected the ‘Nyumba Kumi’ initiative where they are forced to dig into their pockets in order to make the team run.

Speaking on Thursday in Thika town during the start of the Trade fair event, the chairman expressed his concern that the county government has neglected them and are not included in the financial year bill.

He said that the community-policing programme has helped reduce crime rate in the area, citing the ongoing investigation to curb the drug cartel in Kiganjo.

Njomo further challenged Kiambu County Commander James Mugera to make effort to diminish corrupt officers or the community will fish them out of the county.

“I appeal to my friend Mugera to come out handy and suspend these corrupt officers or the community will soon take to the street,” said Njomo.

The chairman congratulated Juja MP Francis Munyua for speaking out of the ‘lazy’ OCS David Kombe who is not performing to reduce crime in the area.

“Leaders like Munyua are the one we need who do not tolerate lazy officers in their county, and if all leaders will follow suit, then Kiambu will be a zero percent crime tolerance,” he added.

The community-policing unit will hold a meeting in Kiandutu and Gatuanyaga areas to sensitise the residents on the importance of ‘Nyumba Kumi’ on November 28 and 30 respectively.
