Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo has dismissed claims by Opposition leaders that the government intends to rig elections through the amendments to the electoral laws.
Speaking in Gatundu South Constituency during the burial of Charles Regeru, brother to area MP Moses Kuria, Njomo said Jubilee would win even without ammending laws.
“We are positive that Jubilee shall win. We do not need extra favours because we have God's favours and we are going to beat our competititors,” said Njomo.
The lawmaker said manual system with ensure smooth running of elections should the electronic system fail to live to expectations.
"Our call for changes in the electoral law is only meant to provide an alternative mechanism to ensure elections proceed well," he said.
Similar sentiments were echoed by Kiambu Women Representative Annah Nyokabi who said manual system was necessary as backup to the electronic system.
“Digital systems can’t exist without a manual system because they can fail and we all know that," said Nyokabi.
