Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo has predicted that the newly formed Jubilee Party (JP) will win by a landslide in the forthcoming general election.
According to the lawmaker, JP's many supporters across the country will lead to victory at the expence of Cord coalition.
While supporting the merger of parties under Jubilee Alliance to form JP, Njomo said that the new party will unite the country through fighting tribalism.
“The formation of JP is a new dawn for Kenya and will help bring Kenyans together at the same time discouraging tribalism that is perpetuated by many tribal parties,” said Njomo during a phone interview with this writer.
The legislator said that JP under the leadership of President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy William Ruto will be a game changer in the country's democracy.
He dismissed criticism by a section of opposition leaders in regards to the merging of the Jubilee parties saying that they are envious and afraid of next year’s election.
The MP further asked JP top leadership to start sensitization campaigns of the party's agenda ahead of the 2017 elections.
The party is set to be launched next month and President Uhuru will use it to seek re-election for a second term in office.
On Tuesday, Cord leader Raila Odinga criticized the merger saying that it will kill democracy.
