Njomo who was speaking in Kiambu town on Monday urged parents and teachers to be on the lookout on websites or contact education officers near them to get the full information on the admission.

According to Njomo many educated sons and daughters missed the opportunity to attend university courses due to ignorance by the parents and teachers.

The legislator expressed his frustrations with many bright students from secondary level ending up in shoddy universities to pursue unknown careers despite having performed brilliantly in high school.

He revealed that according to Kenya Universities and College Central Placements Service (KUCCPS) formerly Joint Admission Board (JAB) the cut-off point has been reduced up to the lowest level possible.

He said that the cut off points is B (plain) 60 points for boys, B-(minus) 58 points for girls and B-(minus) for marginalized areas like Kwale, Kilifi, Taita Taveta, Tana River and Lamu.

He further revealed that students with disabilities got enrolled by the KUCCPS with a minimum grade of C+, and that all the application should be done on KUCCPS website.

He has called on KUCCPS to be informing parents and students through the social media by conducting a campaign to sensitize them.

The law maker said that Kenyans were subjected to tough examinations and that it was mandatory for the KUCCPS to be informative so that the burdens of parents might be easier.
