Kiambu town Member of Parliament, Jude Njomo, has urged youths in the area to venture in community social work and avoid indulging in crime.
Speaking at Ting’ang’a on Monday, Njomo said idle minds are dangerous hence the need of being involved in certain activities.
Njomo said that illicit brew has become rampant in the area. He urged the youths to help contain and tame the brewers of the liquor to save the future generation and leaders.
The legislator revealed that soon he will launch a sporting activity in the area to help young talents realise their dreams.
He however lauded Kiambu County Government sports County Executive CeC Machel Waikenda for consistent support of sports programmes.
The lawmaker expressed his concerns to the local chiefs who are allegedly in cahoots with the brewers. It is alleged that some chiefs in the area partner with brewers.
“We cannot work with leaders who do not care about people. We want people of integrity in our leadership. I will make sure all those chiefs who collaborate with criminals are sacked,” said Njomo.
