Kiambu Town MP Jude Njomo has called on the national government to fairly recruit youths into the Kenya Defense Force (KDF).
Speaking in Kiambu Town on Sunday, the MP expressed his concerns over corruption cases during recruitment exercises and urged the government to vet those who will be involved in the activity.
The lawmaker further sent a stern warning to the families who have the tendency of bribing the officers claiming to be in charge of recruiting insisting if found both parties will face the rule of law.
Njomo cautioned residents not to be tricked by conmen who will now take advantage of the poor and desperate Kenyans to defraud them. He urged them to report to the authorities for the perpetrators to be brought to book.
The MP has called on area police, in partnership with county police commander James Mugera, to constitute a team which will conduct undercover investigations to ensure such heinous acts do not happen.
He further called on residents to turn up in large numbers for the exercise set to kick off on September 13.
