The dispute, emanating from allocation, ownership and management of water resources in the area has caused water shortages and rifts among the consumers of this scarce resource for more than six months.

Njoro MP Joseph Kiuna who officiated the conciliation efforts yesterday claimed that the disputes are politically instigated.

He went on to blame the politicians who perpetrate such rifts and later use them to popularize themselves and build their political career at the expense of the publics.

“We know the politicians who have been inciting the youth to cause chaos, create divisions among the people and later disguise themselves as makers of peace and unity they are known to cause fights among the people but pretend when they are in public. We will name and shame you. Politics should be put at bay on matters relating to allocation of resources,” Kiuna charged.

He went on to point at the county government for laxity and inability to manage water resources and ensure equitable distribution of this scarce resource throughout the constituency.

“We shall do a thorough follow up on all projects funded by the county government to ensure that no embezzlement of funds or corruption is involved. We will also follow to the last penny to find out how much has been released and how it has been used,” The legislator added.
