A section of women traders in Njoro town have warned teenage girls against dressing scantly, saying they risk being stripped.
The women claim that most girls in the town are dressing poorly, a situation that has led to increased rape and defilement cases.
They claimed that some women, especially those in early twenties and thirties, are dressing indecently.
Through their leader Marion Njoki, the women have vowed to deal with indecent dressing in a bid to restore dignity of women.
“We are concerned over the continued poor dressing of women in this town. We will not sit as our dignity continues to be tarnished,” she said.
On Wednesday, two women were stripped naked by a group of traders for alleged indecent dressing.
The women were angered by the behaviour of the two after they started hurling insults and abuses at the traders.
Njoki asked women to be respectable by dressing appropriately to avoid being embarrassed in public.
