Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaiserry has accused ODM chief Raila Odinga of lying about former minister William Ntimama’s political stand.
Nkaiserry who spoke in Kajiado on Tuesday, said Raila’s speech during Ntimama’s burial in Narok County last week was aimed at wooing the Maasai community, adding that it was wrong for him to use the event to seek political popularity.
He said the former prime minister’s speech was a lie as Ntimama had openly declared support for Jubilee.
“I respected Raila Odinga and gave him time to address mourners at the funeral, but he instead used the opportunity to lie about Ntimama’s support,” said the CS as quoted by citizentv.co.ke.
“It is wrong for a person who is interested in wanting to be the President of Kenya to lie that Ntimama had called him when we all know that his heart was in Jubilee,” he added.
During the event, Raila claimed that Ntimama was still a supporter of ODM.
On Tuesday, a section of Maasai elders also condemned Raila’s utterances and even threatened to curse him for lying about Ntimama’s political stand.
