Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery has challenged opposition chief Raila Odinga to record a statement with the police over his election rigging claims.
According to Nkaissery, the allegations by Raila could threaten the country's peace and stability ahead of the August elections.
“If there is any truth in it, they should come forward and record a statement and tell us precisely what they know about it because we want this country to remain stable. We want free, fair and credible elections,” Nkaissery was quoted by the Nation.
Nkaissery made the remarks on Wednesday in Narok during a meeting with administration officers.
In a statement on Tuesday, the opposition chief accused the government of using the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to enlist foreigners in the ongoing mass voter registration, alleging that it could be a plot by the Jubilee administration to rig the next general election.
