Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery outlawed 89 criminal gangs believed to be conducting various criminal activities nationwide.
In a Gazette Notice issued on Friday, the CS declared the groups illegal, saying they were terrorizing innocent Kenyans and stealing from them.
The groups include; Akili za Usiku, Baragoi Boys, Eminants of mungiki, Bulanda Boys, Chimoi Highway Gang, American Marines, Beasts, Black Latino, Bongo Rongo, Egypt Boys, Five Fingers, G15, and China Squad.
Others include; 42 Brothers, Cool Base, Corner Stars, Culture Boys among others.
Members of the gangs risk a fine not exceeding Sh5 million or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 15 years, or both, if found running the groups.
They however have 21 days to challenge Nkaissery's declaration before the High Court.
