Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinett and the Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery have been told to resign from their positions in the government if they can’t take immediate action against police officers who allegedly shot two ladies at Daraja Mbili market last week
According to Kisii South KNUT branch executive secretary, Geoffrey Mogire, the two should resign for failing to perform their duties.
Addressing demonstrators on Monday at Kisii county commissioners’ office Mogire said since Nkaissery got nominated to be the cabinet in the government but he is not fighting for the residents the way he used to do when he was a politician.
“We need Nkaissery and Boinnet to use their powers and take a serious action against the police officers alleged to have killed our two ladies if they fail to do so let them resign so that responsible people can take their positions,” said Mogire.
On Monday residents demonstrated over the killings at Daraja Mbili saying police should provide security and not killing.
