A furious Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko has accused Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery of being ‘drunk with power’ following withdrawal of security officers attached to Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi.

The two coastal governors have been critical of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government and have often differed with the head of state in public.

Mboko, a close ally of the two, has instead taken her war on Nkaissery by accusing him of implementing illegal orders from his bosses.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with this man Nkaissery. He worries me when executing illegal actions without even giving a reason. He has done it not even once,” she said in a press conference on Saturday.

Mboko added: “I want to challenge him to come to Mombasa and face Joho in an election if he continues to demean him. The people of Mombasa should be respected.”

The outspoken County MP is not new to controversy, notably, having been at loggerheads with government over its treatment to opposition leaders.
