Acting Interior CS Fred Matiang’i said Nkaissery had hinted to colleagues at the cabinet that he would be away in Kajiado for the fundraiser on Sunday July 9.

In honour of the late CS, Matiang’i said cabinet secretaries have contributed Sh5 million in support of the orphans the late former army general had planned to assist.

“There is one thing my colleagues (CSs) requested me to say here,” Matiang’i said during Nkaissery’s burial ceremony at Ilbisil in Kajiado.

“He died a day before holding a funds drive in aid of orphans in Kajiado. We will honour that plan by contributing Sh5 million towards that plan.”

He said cabinet secretaries will also contribute to all development plans Nkaissery had in Kajiado before his demise.

“If there are other activities that General had wanted to be done, we will pursue and ensure that work is done. Losing an individual whose presence was felt in all sectors is something we will take long to come to terms with.”

He said President Uhuru Kenyatta has already directed cabinet secretaries to extend financial aid to two schools that Nkaissery had planned to help.
